Kerbi McKnight brings a practical, experience-informed approach to therapy shaped by her life and work in rural Alberta.
She grew up on a ranch in east central Alberta and returned home with her husband to transition her family’s ranch. Today, she is raising her own family there while working as a psychologist in Stettler.
Her work is grounded in both professional training and a lived understanding of agriculture, including the realities that come with ranching, family operations, and rural life.

WHAT KERBI SPECIALIZES IN
Kerbi supports individuals navigating:
stress and burnout
anxiety
depression
trauma

Connection to Agriculture
Kerbi’s work focuses on creating a safe, supportive space to explore difficult experiences.
She believes that each person is the expert in their own situation, and her role is to help make sense of what feels overwhelming or unfamiliar. Part of that process is helping people feel a sense of normal when what they’re going through feels confusing or isolating.
Her approach draws from a range of methods including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, art therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy, an approach that has significantly shaped her work in trauma.
She often describes finding the right therapist as being like finding the right pair of boots, sometimes it takes a bit of adjustment to find the right fit.
Kerbi has lived and worked in rural communities her entire life.
She grew up in a ranching environment and has been practicing as a psychologist in the same rural community for over a decade. Through both her personal life and her work, she understands the specific challenges faced by farmers and ranchers.
She is especially passionate about helping people recognize that they don’t have to carry everything on their own and that they have the option to put some of that weight down.
