Connection to Agriculture
Kerbi’s work focuses on creating a safe, supportive space to explore difficult experiences.
She is passionate about educating farmers and ranchers that they don’t have to carry the heavy stuff, and they have the choice to put it down.
Her approach draws from a range of methods including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR, trauma-informed therapy, art therapy, and Accelerated Resolution Therapy.
She describes that finding the right therapist is like finding the right pair of boots — sometimes you have to tweak things a bit to find the right fit.
Kerbi grew up in a rural community, and has been practicing in that same rural community for the last 12 years. She believes everyone is an expert in their own situation.
Since her family is actively ranching, she has a good framework for understanding some of the issues specifically faced by ranchers and farmers.
It often helps to be able to create a sense of normal when the issue feels so foreign and confusing to the person experiencing them.
