Integrating Farm Culture into Treatment Care Plans
Dr. Rebecca at AgWellAB has partnered with other leading researchers in farmer mental health to study this important topic and foster real change. Our team includes Dr. Michelle Pavloff from Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Dr. Briana Hagen from the Canadian Centre of Agricultural Wellbeing, Dr Andria Jones from the University of Guelph and Dr. Joe Wiebe from the University of Alberta.
This is the first product of our collaboration: Understanding farm culture and how healthcare providers can use this information to engage more effectively with farmer patients and integrate that information into their care plans. We presented this work in a workshop at the Rural and Remote Medicine Conference in Winnipeg. This is an annual conference of the Society of Rural Physicians of Canada (SRPC) that engages over 1,000 attendees.
